Professor Mark De Ste Croix (UK - Project Lead)

Prof De Ste Croix's interests lie in paediatric sport and exercise with an emphasis on injury prevention.  He works predominantly with football clubs to identify injury risk in academy players and provide advice on recovery strategies and screening technique. Mark has obtained funding from FIFA, UEFA and the English FA to explore injury risk in female youth football. Mark also works with the England and Wales Cricket board exploring back injuries in elite youth fast bowlers and Athletic Club Bilbao Football Club exploring training load and injury risk.

Dr Francisco Ayala (Spain Lead)

La investigación actual del Dr. Ayala se centra en comprender el papel de los factores biomecánicos, personales, psicológicos y genéticos para desarrollar lesiones musculoesqueléticas. Actualmente está utilizando técnicas de modelado bayesiano para explorar factores de riesgo de lesiones en el deporte juvenil y ha obtenido fondos de varias fuentes para examinar el riesgo y la prevención de lesiones.

Dr Michal Lehnert (Czech Lead)

Odborný asistent Michal Lehnert je zkušený trenér, výcvik trenéra, odborník na prevenci úrazů a
akademický. Michal má zkušenosti s omezením zranění ve sportu, včetně fotbalového a trenérského vzdělávání. Jeho zkušenosti jsou založeny na dlouhodobé praxi, spolupráci se sportovními kluby, akademických aktivitách, včetně výzkumná práce zaměřená na prevenci úrazů. Jeho výzkumný tým spolupracoval zejména s České mládežnické týmy (basketbal, házená a fotbal) v oblasti testování tělesné zdatnosti, příprava programů fitness fitness zaměřených na individualizaci nákladu.

Dr Jonathan Hughes (UK - Strength and Conditioning Lead)

Dr Hughes’s expertise lies in the reduction of injury risk in youth athletes via programming of suitable training programmes. Much of his research has been to investigate the effectiveness of training interventions within adolescent athletes across a variety of sports including, rugby, football, golf and cricket.  Jonathan has been part of research grants from FIFA, UEFA and the FA. Jonathan is now working to incorporate monitoring of training load to assess the effectiveness of training programmes for reducing injury risk in a variety of youth sports.

Dani Ritson (UK - Sports Therapy Lead)

Ms Ritson is a qualified member of the Society of Sports Therapists and has worked specifically in rugby. She applies specialist treatment and prehabilitation to clients across a range of sports with a focus on the youth athlete. Dani's research interests are in injury prevention at the knee, screening and biomechanical interventions (including 3D mechanics).

Dr Sergio Hernandez Sanchez (Spain - Physiotherapy Lead)

La investigación actual del Dr. Hernández Sánchez se centra en la prevención de lesiones musculoesqueléticas a través de la evaluación de factores de riesgo biomecánicos. Además, ha trabajado en la medición clínica, utilizando medidas de resultado autoinformadas para las tendinopatías relacionadas con el deporte. El Dr. Hernández-Sánchez ha participado en un proyecto de investigación competitivo financiado por la "Cátedra de Investigación Real Madrid-Universidad-Europea" relacionada con el uso de Bayesiano Redes para prevenir lesiones en las extremidades inferiores en la juventud. Además, el Dr. Hernández-Sánchez está activamente participando en otro proyecto de investigación que tiene como objetivo minimizar la prevalencia del dolor lumbar en los jóvenes.

Anna Newell (Lead Administrator)

Anna is a member of the European Funding Office (EFO) at University of Gloucestershire. The EFO is responsible for overseeing the management of all EU funded projects run by the University. It has many years’ experience managing European projects, the largest of which was a 6 million Euro ESF project with 12 partners. The EUFO team has expertise in project management, dissemination and exploitation, financial management and equal

Dr Colin Baker (Evaluation Team)

Dr Colin Baker is a Research Fellow in the Interventions4Health research unit at the University of Gloucestershire. Colin's main role is in the design, deliver, and evaluation of interventions relating to physical activity, health, and well-being. He has worked with a large number of partners including health agencies, commissioners, government agencies, and charities to address health issues.

Mr Ignacio Ruiz Pérez (Spain - Physical performance)

Iñaki Ruiz es estudiante de doctorado en Ciencias del Deporte en la Universidad Miguel Hernández, Elche, España. Recibió su Licenciatura en Actividad Física y Deportes y Maestría en Desempeño Deportivo y Calor, en la misma universidad. Ahora está trabajando en su tesis doctoral sobre prevención de lesiones en la juventud.

María Pilar García-Vaquero, (Spain - Physical Performance Lead)

La Sra. García-Vaquero tiene experiencia en ergonomía y prevención de lesiones por dolor lumbar, entrenamiento básico, así como actividad física y promoción de la salud. Ella también se especializa en innovación tecnológica en educación. También trabaja en protocolos de evaluación y programas de ejercicios de tronco para mejorar la estabilidad de la columna vertebral y colabora en el proyecto dirigido por el Dr. Ayala, que está relacionado con el uso de Bayesian Networks para prevenir lesiones en las extremidades inferiores en la juventud.
